It’s now 16 years since the original Vintage Computer Festival GB which was held at Bletchley Park.
A follow-up event at the site just wasn’t to be, and I left the area soon afterwards. A second event took place at Snibston in Leicestershire three years later.
When the original event took place there were no medium-large festivals in the UK dedicated to retrocomputing.
In the years that followed, several have been inspired by or even tried copying what we did – but nothing has quite captured that same magic.
I’ve been busy with work and other projects, but it was the lack of a suitable venue which kept us away for so long.
The 2026 event will have a different feel, not least because we’ve moved up north to the exhibition and indoor suite areas of Aintree Racecourse.
However, the community atmosphere will remain.
Vintage Computer Festival GB is for collectors, enthusiasts, families, or those just wanting a great day out of nostalgia. It will be special.
We’re updating the website as new guests and special features are added to the weekend schedule, so make sure you keep calling back to find out what’s new.
We’re also on Facebook where you can find the details too.
Simon.
